| By SolSmart

This is the second part of the SolSmart webinar series on solar and energy efficiency in low-to-moderate income (LMI) communities. This webinar provides examples of projects and programs already demonstrating significant advancement of solar and energy efficiency in LMI communities. GRID Alternatives, a nonprofit organization, discusses its no-cost solar installation and community solar models for LMI communities. Denver Housing Authority (DHA) outlines best practices and lessons learned in expanding solar access and energy efficiency to LMI communities, including its solar-ready and energy efficiency design standards for new construction. Viewers will also learn about the U.S. Department of Energy’s Solar in Your Community Challenge, a $5 million competition that incentivizes the development of new models that can expand solar access across America and increase energy affordability.
