SolSmart is hiring two Advisors to assist Virginia communities
SolSmart has grown at a rapid pace since its public launch in April 2016. Over 214 cities, towns, and counties nationwide have earned Bronze, Silver, and Gold designations for making faster, easier, and more affordable to go solar, moving us close to our goal of designating 300 or more.
Critical to our past and future success, is the SolSmart Advisor team. SolSmart Advisors are temporary, program-funded and -trained staff who work with select communities for up to six months. They provide intensive, hands-on technical assistance to help these communities open up solar markets.
Now, we are hiring a Virginia Cohort Advisor and a Southwest Virginia Cohort Advisor to serve communities in Virginia that are seeking assistance in developing actionable plans to move toward SolSmart designation. The Advisor will work with local government staff to meet SolSmart criteria related to solar permitting and inspections, planning and development, solar rights, community development, and other areas.
To qualify, individuals must have experience relevant to the SolSmart objectives. However, Advisors will undergo an orientation and receive technical assistance training prior to deployment.
