SolSmart 101: Learn More About the Program

Is your community considering getting involved in SolSmart? If you’ve perused our website and are looking for more information, check out this recording of a recent webinar we held to provide an overview of the program and what it means for communities. In the webinar, we go over the key criteria for SolSmart designation and explain the typical process for local governments to get involved. We also outline the process for reviewing and granting SolSmart designations, and we answer some common questions.

Every municipality, county, and regional organization in the United States is eligible to participate in SolSmart. The program offers no-cost technical assistance to help communities make solar energy more affordable and accessible while achieving their climate and energy goals. Another benefit is the public recognition when a community is designated SolSmart Gold, Silver, or Bronze.

With COVID-19 at the top of everyone’s mind, our team is also helping communities find solutions to some of the unique challenges that have arisen during this challenging time; for example, how to issue permits and conduct inspections on a remote basis. You can find more information in a blog post we published here.

If you’re interested in learning more, contact us today or request a consultation here. We can’t wait to help your community go solar!
