The SolSmart engagement partners will support priority communities as part of the Justice40 Initiative, which provides equitable opportunities for communities that are marginalized, underserved, and overburdened by pollution. The SolSmart Program is committed to centering diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) in all aspects of the program’s design, implementation, and outreach to communities.

“The engagement partner opportunity allows for frontline organizations to directly connect communities to the solar resources of the SolSmart program, particularly through no-cost technical assistance,” said Theresa Perry, SolSmart Program Director at IREC. “The new engagement partnerships offer a chance for organizations with strong community ties but relatively little solar experience to become engaged with SolSmart. We are excited about the possibilities for connecting with even more communities across the country.”

Please email any questions about the RFP to solsmart@irecusa.org. Answers will be posted in a public forum here.

The SolSmart program is jointly managed by IREC and the International City/County Management Association (ICMA). The SolSmart engagement partners will be coordinated by IREC.
